Processions in Spain

I saw two processions when I was in Spain. The first was when Suraj and I were trying to find our way back to our hostel in Sevilla. We were in the very confusing neighborhood of Barrio de Santa Cruz when all of a sudden, we heard loud music. We had no idea what was going on and decided to follow in the direction everyone was going. We turned the corner and saw a religious procession going on. JP and Jeremy told us they saw one the night before so we were somewhat familiar with what it was.

The streets in this neighborhood are so narrow I don't know how it fit
No big deal- just a band marching down the street
The crowd we decided to follow
Another view
Tried to get as close as I could
Strangest thing
When I got back home and asked Maria about it she didn't really know how to explain it
These procession are very common

People standing in the street with crosses

On my second to last day in Granada, I was walking around and heard loud music. I decided to follow the music once again and ended up in Plaza de Isabella Catholica.

There are a lot of people involved in these types of processions

This picture is my favorite because if you look closely you can see the peoples feet
Turning onto Gran Via one of the main roads in Granada
Another band
When I got home I showed Maria pictures and she once again didn't know why it was going on.  These processions seem kind of unannounced if you ask me. But, I'm glad I was able to see two of them because they were interesting.
