Suprises so far

• Every airport has their own system. Boston has buses to different terminals. Madrid has trains (similiar to the EL) to get to baggage claims.

• American music is played a lot here on the radios. I´ve heard a lot of Rhianna, Emenim, and Lady gaga. I keep thinking- Do you understand what their saying? For some reason I thought these songs would be translated into Spanish, but I guess I was wrong.

• There´s a lot of news about America on T.V. I´ve seen Obama´s face here in the past 4 days than I have in a long time. On the news I also saw clips of JLO, Miranda Kerr, Gwyneth Paltrow. I was itching to find out what event they were all at. I´m going to have to except that I´m not going to be too savvy in the gossip-celebrity columns this much, which will be a change because perezhilton.com is the first site I look at in the mornings. 

• Maria (host mom) told me Gwyenth Paltrow studied in Granada and stayed with a host family. I´m not saying I doubt her, but I will definitely have to check that out

• There are Royal Wedding magazines over here

• Burger King & H&M. Maria was very excited to show me the Burger King

• My first two days have been out of the ordinary (says Maria) because the first day was the Day of Work so all the businesses were closed and yesterday businesses closed early because of The Day of The Cross (Dia de la Cruz)
 
• My roommate never showed up. No one really knows what happened.
