I eat lunch and dinner with my home stay parents. They probably think I'm crazy because I take pictures of basically everything I eat. But I want to make sure I have proof that I broadened my horizons and ate new foods. I've learned that in Spain people coordinate their wines and beers to the type of food they are eating. Sometimes Julio will drink white wine and other times red wine depending on the meal, which is interesting. I've learned that Spanish people like to take their time when they eat, which is something I'm struggling with. In America (or at least in my house) we rush through eating, so I'm trying to learn to pace myself a little better (which is hard). I'm still not sure exactly what I'm eating every day my host parents don't know a lot of English so the captions are pretty much what I think I'm eating.
Meat and potatoes
Ice cream (fresca and tutti frutti) at the best ice cream place in Granada
(Obama and his family have eaten there before)
Churros and chocolate (I still don't get what the big deal about them are)
PASTA! I was so excited to have this! And that's the salad I have every night. Maria and Julio don't understand why I don't put olive oil or any kind of dressing on.
Soup and ???
"Huevos Rotos" which translates to broken eggs (don't know what that means)
My friend ordered this and had to take a picture!
Fish still had their heads/tails attached and the bone was still in them
